Mari Lwyd
The Mari Lwyd is a fascinating Welsh wassailing tradition whereby a Horse's skull is mounted upon a person's head and is articulated using two poles which allow the jaw to snap; giving the Mari Lwyd its energetic character Accompanied by a small group, the Mari Lwyd visits houses requesting entry through song, to which the householder will also respond in song. Through this back-and-forth, the householder would deny the Mari Lwyd entry until they finally allow its entry; after which it will help itself to the house's food and drink
